• To design promotion policies of formal and alternative mechanisms to access justice.

• To promote legal security and the decrease in the transaction cost in relationships among right subjects.

• Legal defense of the Nation and legal order.

• To rationalize current rights and normative formulation.

• To democratize legal information; and to harmonically exercise competences and attributions of national institutions.

• To formulate and adopt the Government policy regarding internal public order, political affairs, peace, citizen coexistence, fundamental rights and freedom, citizen participation in the political and social organization of the Nation, affairs related to ethnic groups, relationships between the Nation and territorial institutions of the Republic, and other matters within its scope.

• To foster territorial decentralization and order by dynamizing relationships between the Nation and territorial entities regarding decentralization policies and institutional development.

• To consolidate the management of political affairs, participative and pluralist democracy in order to guarantee access to spaces and mechanisms of citizen and community participation in life and in the social and political organization of the Nation.

• To promote and guarantee fundamental rights and freedom, public order, peace, citizen coexistence, and freedom of cult and religion.

• To formulate policies, guarantee rights, and verify the management of matters related to ethnic communities.

• To guarantee the regular development of electoral processes by promoting the modernization of institutions to exercise political rights.
